Our Founder, Adrita Sarkar

Raised in Kolkata, India’s cultural heart - she was surrounded by art, literature, and architecture, steeped in the city’s timeless old-world charm. Life in a Bengali household, rich with folk art, music, and tradition, nurtured her instinct for craft and her love for storytelling.

Her journey in design began at the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Kolkata, followed by training in Fashion Marketing at the London College of Fashion. Over the years, she worked across design and marketing with some of India’s leading fashion retailers, building an industry career that now spans two decades.

Travels across India and beyond introduced her to craft clusters and artistic traditions from around the world, influences that continue to shape Minimal Indian’s distinctive, hand-illustrated aesthetic.

"Over the years, I realised that the spaces we live in hold our truest stories. That’s why I chose the home as my canvas , it’s where life unfolds in its most personal, unfiltered way. For me, art and design are not just to be admired from a distance; they should be lived with, touched, and woven into our everyday rituals."
